This is a love story from the ocean blue about a peculiar disappearance between a seedpod and a horticulturalist. On a quest for love, Irene flies from the Girdle of S., the deepest depression on the planet, to its the highest points-- only to discover Glenn White who is on a journey of his own. Glenn finds himself pulled into the Girdle of S., where he takes his last breath.

This is what happens when windows are left open and seedpods fly in. In flight, Irene carries a bag of water from the Bay of S., the deepest depression in the world . With this bag, she draws in Glenn White, a man obsessed with visiting the highest points on the planet. Although he does not see her, he finds himself sinking deep into the Girdle of S. as she takes his breath away.

Within a greenhouse built to preserve sentient plants, a woman grows out of the glow from the TV set. Her husband, hung from above, observes her developing abilities and concludes that she is having an affair with their horticultural scientist, Glenn White. Who is this woman, and where did she disappear to?

Thursday at Girdle of S. begins with the tragic death of Glenn White. Irene uncovers the shocking news and arrives after everybody else has come and gone. She finds solace walking among the remains of his wake. This glimpse into Glenn’s life releases her from the his world--taking Irene back to the Girdle of S.
